Subject: totals are in

Hi,

I really appreciate you volunteering for the Firebirds Game. You did a wonderful job. HOCKEY PARENT’S AND KID’S ARE AMAZING!!

Your generosity makes a huge difference in the lives of many children. The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan couldn't be effective without the help of selfless volunteers just like you.

Our fundraiser was extremely successful and we are very grateful for your support in helping us reach our fundraising goal. Our 50/50 was $4,415.00 one of the highest totals they have had. Red Wings Ticket Raffle brought in an amazing $840.00, paper puck sales $63.00, silent auction $7,285.00 less some embroidering fee and 2,584 lbs. of food was collected. WOW!

The $500.00 check was applied directly to Richfield Academy account and also counted towards their spirit squad totals with ABC12.--- Way to go Lapeer Lightning Hockey Team!

The proceeds from the fundraiser will be directly applied to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan Backpack Program. Richfield Academy will be first to be funded for 48 children for next school year and remaining funds will be used at a school in need. The goal of the Backpack Program is to provide children at risk of hunger with easy access to healthy, non-perishable food items that meet their weekend nutritional needs. Every weekend children in this program take home a backpack full of food. Without this program many children would not eat over the weekend.

Once again I would like to thank you for all you’ve done for The Food Bank of Eastern Michigan, the Backpack Program and the children in our community.

Sincerely,

Kathleen
